College Leadership Team

UWCSEA Staff United We Can

Chief Human Resources Officer

Open for applications until Tuesday, 28 February 2023

UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA) is at an exciting point in its development. As we embark on our next 50 years at the forefront of international education, new educational and strategic imperatives, together with new challenges facing both the Singapore and global workforce, are emerging. As part of our strategic and mission-aligned response, we have created the new role of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead our people strategy, charged with leading the creation of an outstanding employee experience and supporting a culture of belonging for everyone in our community.

The job

Reporting to the Head of College and sitting on the College Leadership Team (CLT), the CHRO will work to support our approximately 1,200 direct employees and 1,300 allied employees across the full scope of the HR function. They will, therefore, direct strategy and operations to drive integrated and effective elements across the HR function including:

  • employee engagement and relations
  • career development including learning and development functions
  • talent acquisition and management including compensation and benefits
  • organisational design and workforce planning
  • HR systems, operations and policies

The leadership responsibility

With shared responsibility for setting tone and culture at the College, the CHRO will ensure HR strategy and operations support our mission-aligned, values-driven organisation, in line with the next iteration of our UWCSEA Strategy which is currently being developed.

The HR function is ‘dual campus’ and works to support the College across both our Singapore campuses. Therefore position requires the candidate to divide their time equally between our Dover and East campuses.

The person

The successful candidate will work closely with a wide range of educational and non-educational stakeholders, and manage a committed and talented team of HR professionals.

They will have outstanding written and verbal communications skills in English, a track record of demonstrated success in leading a dynamic HR team, and the ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment.

Above all, the new CHRO will have exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide strategic leadership while persuading and inspiring a diverse range of individuals and teams in a cross-cultural, multi-lingual and inclusive environment.

How to apply

UWCSEA is partnering with global executive search firm Korn Ferry for this important senior leadership hire. If you are interested to learn more, or to apply for this role, please contact:

Email UWCSEA-CHRO@KornFerry.com

Applications close on 28 February 2023. All applications will be treated with strictest confidence.

Korn Ferry will contact candidates most relevant to the role requirements; the final shortlist of candidates will interview directly with UWCSEA.

Our commitment to Child Safeguarding

UWCSEA takes very seriously its responsibility for safeguarding our students against abuse and neglect. We expect all staff and other adults associated with the College to share this commitment and to immediately report any concerns regarding a student’s safety or wellbeing. For details on reporting and responding to child safeguarding concerns please contact the College Safeguarding Lead.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion

UWCSEA is an equal opportunities employer, and welcomes applications from those who wish to join a community which is inclusive, and which celebrates diversity.
