Content Creator - Innovation [IEC] (6 months contract)

UWCSEA East is looking for a Content Creator for a 6 months contract with an immediate start date. 

The Innovation Content Creator must be a competent web designer and use UWCSEA and other social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc) to promote and strengthen the entrepreneurial and innovative projects at the College. This will involve creation of websites and posting promotional content through interviewing students, teachers and the wider community. Daily, weekly and monthly roundups and articles on both website and social media will need to be created to support the programme and drive interest and celebrate innovation at UWCSEA East.

This role reports to the Head of Innovation and Director of Activities and Community Operations. The working hours will be from 9 am to 5 pm.

Main Responsibilities

The Content Creator responsibilities include: 

  • Meeting with staff, students and the wider community and other stakeholders in creating content, including full development of an Innovation website (including regular blog, text posts, video, articles and images) for use on wider social media.

  • Promoting projects, services and content over social media, in a way that is consistent with the innovation brand and social media strategy

Person Specifications

  • Able to work cohesively in a team-based environment as well as independently and demonstrate initiative

  • Excellent English (written and spoken), interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to multitask

  • Keen learner who is able to adapt and work with minimum supervision

  • Must be friendly, approachable and willing to assist in problem-solving

Key skills for the Innovation Content Creator includes :

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Competent with web design software

  • Photo and video editing experience

  • Strong presentation skills with attention to detail

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Analytical ability

  • An ability to multitask, to work on a number of projects at once

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Collaborative approach to planning

  • Calm and considered approach
