Since 2008, the UWCSEA Foundation has been working to support the UWCSEA vision of being a leader in international education. From increasing scholar numbers to investing in key curriculum initiatives, improving the environment on the campuses to providing exemplary staff development; the Foundation is playing a key role in enhancing the educational experience for current and future students. Support from all members of the community through gifts of time, money or expertise have shown enormous benefit to College life. This was the catalyst for the launch of the Foundation’s Ambassador programme.
The Ambassador initiatives are a way to be involved in shaping the future of the College, and we look forward to sharing more as the programmes develop.
Launched in October 2012, the programme brings together enthusiastic parents from across both campuses. Their goal is to help raise awareness of the achievements and positive impact of the Foundation’s activities. A ‘friend-raising role’ not a fundraising role, Parent Ambassadors represent the Foundation at events, raise awareness through networking and hosting awareness sessions, as well as suggesting promotional platforms. The group plays a crucial role in enhancing the reputation of UWCSEA.
Launched in January 2013 at an event at the EFG Bank in Singapore, this programme focuses on engaging business leaders from our parent, alumni and corporate community in the work of the Foundation. From developing student mentoring initiatives, sharing expertise and experience, providing corporate sponsorship of programmes, to setting up matched giving arrangements, there are a number of ways that businesses—big and small—can contribute.
The Foundation is now focusing on developing a third Ambassador Programme, looking to harness the continued support and passion of alumni who wish to remain involved with the College.
