Ted Cowan

Denise WAN

Ted joined UWCSEA in August 2011 after serving as the High School Principal at the Canadian International School where he worked since 2004. He joined the UWCSEA East Leadership Team in August 2013 as High School Vice Principal after two years as Head of Grade and Boarding Houseparent. Prior to his arrival in Singapore, he taught Mathematics, Computer Science and Physical Education in New Zealand and several schools in Ontario, Canada.

Ted graduated with a Masters in Education from York University in Toronto, Canada and his Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University in Kingston, Canada. He has principal training qualifications from both the Principals' Training Center and the Ontario Principals' Council. He is an active Diploma Programme Site Visitor for the International Baccalaureate. Ted is an Apple Distinguished Educator and enjoys presenting to staff on IT related topics. He loves coaching and talking basketball with the varsity boys team.

Ted and his partner, Belinda have two children, Jackson and Jaime. They love spending their holidays in the outdoors sharing time between their bach in New Zealand and cottage in Canada.
