Mark Porter

Denise WAN

Mark joined UWCSEA Dover in 2013 as Head of Middle School Humanities. He now serves as a House Leader in the Middle School and has taught Humanities, English, Life Skills and Theory of Knowledge at the College. Mark works on the Initiative for Peace programme, as well as the Teacher to Teacher programme, where he has been part of the partnership with the Cambodian Children’s Fund to provide teacher training in Phnom Penh. Mark also works with students on Global Concerns projects and has led a student visit to Southern Africa to support the Service work of our sister school in Swaziland.

Originally from the UK, Mark studied Geography at Cambridge University. Having worked in politics and the civil service, Mark then completed his teaching qualifications at Oxford University. He completed a Masters degree in Education focusing on Leadership and Management with the Open University. Mark has worked in a variety of education roles including Head of Year at Bangkok Patana School. He is an IB examiner and an Accreditation Evaluator for the Council of International Schools. Mark has children in the Infant, Junior and Middle Schools.
