Ellie Alchin is the Director of Teaching and Learning on Dover Campus. She has a passion for holistic values-driven education and has worked in Singapore (at both UWCSEA East and Dover), at the International school of Geneva, Sevenoaks School in the UK, and the Aga Khan Academy in Kenya. Ellie’s background in educational leadership has been eclectic, with roles as a Head of Grade 11 and 12, Head of Faculty, Head of Geography, CAS Coordinator, Service and overseas trip leader.
Ellie has an undergraduate degree from Manchester University and a postgraduate teaching degree from Oxford. She was deputy chief examiner with the International Baccalaureate for Environmental Systems and Society for over 10 years. She has been heavily involved in the College’s Initiative for Peace programme for the past six years and led the first Sky School curriculum hackathon to collaboratively develop the Peacebuilding course now used in refugee camps around the world.
A keen traveller, Ellie loves playing the bassoon, walking in beautiful landscapes, reading, opera, dancing, learning new things, and most of all spending time with her family. Her husband Nick is the Principal of High School at East Campus and they have three children.
