Adopt a Solar Panel
"A great step forward for energy conservation". Raghav Shukla, Class of 2015
Inspired by a Grade 5 Exhibition project, 'Solar for Dover' is a student led initiative that is raising funds to reduce the carbon footprint of the Dover Campus.
This project is just one part of the College's ongoing commitment to reducing its impact on the environment. Over the next two years we hope to install 860 panels across three locations—the Art Block, The Senior Sports Hall and the Junior Sports Hall.
We all have a responsibility to protect our environment and the Solar for Dover project is a very real way the whole College community can be involved in creating a more sustainable future for all. Yes, it is a big mission, but the reward will be pretty big too - once all the panels are in place, they will prevent over 137,500kg of Carbon Dioxide from being released into the atmosphere each year - in CO2 terms, that's the equivalent of 790 flights to Bangkok*.
To find out more about this important initiative, take a look at the story behind Solar for Dover.
For a donation of $600 you can adopt a panel and help make the Solar for Dover programme a reality. You can customise your panel with pictures, as well as leave a personal message. You can also adopt part of a panel from $100.
Phase 1 is now complete! In Summer 2015, the first set of Solar Panels were installed on the Junior School Sports Hall. Thank you to all that supported this wonderful initiative. Now on to Phase 2 :-)
