Our Outdoor Education team
UWCSEA’s Outdoor Education team supports the provision of our K–12 outdoor education curriculum, which is most visible through the expedition programme. A diverse group of highly qualified specialists, our team harnesses their exceptional skills and deep passion for the outdoors to support students both overseas and in Singapore.
A rare model in international schools, UWCSEA’s full-time outdoor education team delivers a bespoke curriculum, working closely with their teaching faculty peers and a group of hand-picked providers to deliver our bespoke curriculum. This encompasses a broad range of outdoor experiences that are intentionally embedded across all elements of our learning programme including academics, activities, personal and social education and service.
Because the College employs our instructors, these outdoor education specialists are able to deliver a level of care and commitment to students that is truly unique. Our outdoor specialists are able to build trust through the long-term, continuous relationships they build with students as they lead them through the increasingly challenging programme each year. By building on their previous relationship and the trust that was built, each time they ask our students to undertake a personally challenging activity, it means that they are then able to bring our students far further and more successfully on the 'challenge of choice' journey. This combination of trust-based relationship while supporting students as they undertake a challenging activity is one of the reasons that our outdoor education programme is so successful.
