Our Outdoor Education team

Our Outdoor Education Team | Specialist Leaders in K–12 Experiential Learning

UWCSEA’s Outdoor Education (OEd) team is central to the delivery of our K–12 outdoor learning curriculum, most visibly through our expansive expedition programme. Made up of highly qualified and diverse specialists, the team brings exceptional expertise and a deep passion for the outdoors to support students both overseas and in Singapore.

Unlike most international schools, UWCSEA employs a full-time Outdoor Education team. This rare model enables us to deliver a truly bespoke curriculum that is intentionally integrated across academics, activities, Personal and Social Education (PSE) and service. Our Outdoor Education specialists work closely with teaching faculty and a carefully selected group of trusted external providers to create safe, meaningful and developmentally aligned outdoor experiences for every student.

Because our instructors are part of the College community, they build long-term, supportive relationships with students. This trust allows our specialists to guide students through increasingly challenging experiences each year, helping them develop confidence, resilience and independence. As students progress through the programme, they benefit from:

  • continuity of care

  • deep understanding of their individual strengths and needs

  • personalised encouragement through each “challenge of choice”

  • safe and expertly supported risk-taking

This unique combination of expertise, continuity and trust is one of the key reasons UWCSEA’s Outdoor Education programme is recognised as an industry leader. Our specialists help students step beyond their comfort zones, embrace new challenges and develop the skills and character that last a lifetime.
