Learning support

We recognise that each student is unique with individual needs. At the heart of our mission is a call to connect people. With a positive, encouraging and respectful school environment for all students, we aim to provide support for students with specific learning difficulties or learning differences to help them succeed in our  learning programme and flourish in our community.

Staff Learning 07

Our experienced Learning Support teams on each campus work with classroom teachers and parents to identify appropriate support for students who are currently enrolled at the College to enable them to thrive in our curriculum.

Because of the highly specialised nature of our learning support programme, and its relatively small scale, we are careful to consider whether our resources can cover the needs of any new students joining the College, while still maintaining support for students currently enrolled at the College.

If further support is needed, the team also consults with outside speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists in evaluating or addressing a student’s needs. If necessary, the Learning Support staff work closely with the Wellness and Counselling Departments to further support both students and parents.

The Learning Support provision in each section of the school is broadly the same on each campus, and is outlined below.

Admissions

While the number of places we can offer to new students is limited, based on the number of students who we can effectively cater to in each grade, we welcome applications from students with identified mild-moderate learning difficulties.
