I had just suffered a fractured ankle playing rugby, so I had a cast on, but our Morris Dancer professor, let me and Kevin Mackay participate as the two and only (probably in the history of Morris Dancing) crippled Morris Dancers as Kevin was also on crutches just like me.
UWCSEA changed my life forever. The impact it had on my view on the world, from a small provincial outlook to a worldly view of the planet and the interconnectedness of all human beings, truly made me become a steward for the planet, for conservation, for international understanding, and for more compassion and curiosity towards other people that might be very different than me.
Biologist, environmental conservationist and entrepreneur, Jorge worked in the field of fisheries and aquaculture before becoming a winemaker and then an environmental consultant.
