Microsite Notes

The homepage home header has the perspectives logo with an image with a dark grey overlay.

Note: If you are looking to update this image you would want to make sure the image is sized at 1440 px by 675 px, saved for web. This should be saved with the grey overlay to keep the logo text compliant with ADA web accessibility guidelines.

This is designed to show one post that has a thumbnail image, Title text and Author (added to the summary with the author link) added. On hover there is an overlay that shows a snipit of the post body.

Updating Post Details

Updating Board: In the post element under Content Filters click on Select Board to update board to show here.
Note: Thumbnail images should always contain simple subjects if possible to make it easy for the users to ready the text showing with the hover.

This feeds panel was designed to have one post showing from Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, social media is managed in the feeds module.

Update Social Feeds

1. Hover over one of the social media elements being pulled into the microsite homepage 
2. Click the gear icon for the element
3. Custom Custom tab click on "sources" dropdown
4. Select the feeds you want to display in this area, THIS is the only thing that should be updated and should match the design to ensure it works properly NOTHING ELSE should be altered or it will break the page
5. Click Save

This section was created to showcase the rich visual media the school captures. It has been designed to have a main video with optional title showing full width. Below that there are three images with titles and text that shows on shower

This section has two content elements one for each manage that is designed to show an image with the Magazine title on the font and additional text on hover with a link.

Updating Photos

1. Hover over the image Resource element, click on the settings (gear icon)
2. Title showing is set in title field
3. To update image select Browse and source new image, note that a square ratio would work well in this area.
4. Update text for hover under the Image section. Modify the title and paragraph text and set link destination.
5. Hit Save

This was created with two post elements (one for each row) in a container. You are able to update and control what posts you see in the top row with the 3 images and the posts showing below with the 2 images.

This was designed to best work with three buttons going across the page in full width. Each button is a content element that is in a three column layout.

Adding it to Interior Pages

1. Go to view button options from the example page in the production branch: https://uwcseaedusg.finalsite.com/fs/admin/site/pages/646
2. Copy the 3 column layout container into the desired pages.

The microsite header showing on the interior page has been created flexible enough be used on other microsites that will be built out. Special considerations for this should always be taken as this was created without a dropdown best to have limited main navigation items to keep the design initially created.

Creating New Microsite Banners

Each microsite would need the following banners; Header & Mobile Note: The footer would match the microsite footer

1. Go to Banner Utility
2. Clone Microsite Default Banner in Header Banner, name banner 'Microsite | Default Banner Perspective Based'
   - Update the Navigation element to the Microsite being created
   - Set the header utility menu here if needed, Microsites (other than Perspectives) are set to Microsite | General Header Utility branch
3. Clone Microsite Default Mobile Banner, name banner 'Microsite Perspectives Mobile'
   - Update the Navigation element to the Microsite being created
   - Set the header utility menu
4. Apply the header and mobile banner in the Page Layout and Appearance section of the Tier1 Microsite page.
5. Bulk update to add header and mobile banners to all microsite pages
6. Bulk Publish
