Head Coach - Taylor Smith

(tsm@uwcsea.edu.sg)

Taylor Smith joined UWCSEA East in 2012 bringing with him many years of experience in both swim teaching and coaching at the highest level.  A former Scottish International swimmer, he helped to build one of the most successful private learn to swim programmes in the UK.  A programme which has since produced Commonwealth medalists, World Championship and Olympic Team members.  Taylor has worked as Director of Swimming in Asian International schools for many years and has been instrumental in the recent success of the UWCSEA Dragons swimmming programme.  The Dragons have won every international school title in Singapore and are the reigning SEASAC Champions, a title which they retained from 2013.  In a very short space of time the swim programme has produced Singapore National champions, SEASAC record holders, Scottish age group medalists, British/Australian Age Group and World Cup qualifiers.  Taylor hopes to use recent success as a building block for the swimming team at UWC and believes doing so will be down to the coaches.  Smith is confident that the coaching team at East have the experience to rival any programme in the world, which is what they intend to do.
