Middle School Sports, East Campus

Representative Sports teams on East Campus follow the seasonal schedule below. The focus for the coaches of students in Grades 6–8 is to further develop their potential in sports.

Grade 6 – Students will concentrate on developing their individual and team skills. Sportsmanship and fair play will be emphasised in training.

Grades 7 and 8 – Advance level of play and tactics will be introduced, but the focus continues to be on skills development and decision making in a competitive environment

*Gymnastics, Swimming and Tennis programmes run all year. There is a charge made to reflect this.

Who do we play?

Games will be arranged against some of the other twenty-five international schools that are part of the Athletic Conference of Singapore International Schools (ACSIS). Please do click the link so you can see who you could be playing against.

Important statement about organisation and sign-up – PLEASE READ:

Students need to enrol via an online form for try outs. The online form will be sent out to all Middle School students' email accounts. Try outs will be held on a Tuesday and Thursday. Selections will be made and the coach will announce the team after the final try out session.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the team will be doing one of three things:

i) practising at home at 3.10–4.20pm OR 4.30-6.00pm

ii) playing a game away (leave approximately 3.15pm and return at approximately 6.30pm) or

iii) playing a game at home. This will start no earlier than 4.30pm (“Why so late?” Because other teams need to travel to us and other age-groups in our school need to use the facility.).

The actual schedule will, therefore, be dependent on the fixtures. We will endeavour to have an accurate schedule available in the first week of the season which will be displayed on notice boards and emailed to students and their parents.

What do we do after the season is over?

Join the next sport in season!

Or, if you would like to pursue the sport all year then we suggest that you sign on with one of our community sports partners who provide great coaching and playing opportunities at weekends.
