Mukund Tibrewala ‘13: Forbes 30 under 30

Mukund was featured in Forbes 30 under 30 list having made waves in the financial tech space through Salient, a start-up he co-founded with fellow alum, Ari Malik ‘13.

Salient transforms the loan servicing industry with its vertical AI agents designed to streamline customer interactions and loan management processes.

These AI agents operate across voice, text, email, and web chat, handling tasks like payment collection, due date changes, insurance updates, and customer queries in real time. He shares,

I'm so thrilled to announce that Salient has raised a $4M seed round from Matrix, Y Combinator, and General Catalyst! Ari and I have come a long way since meeting in our UWCSEA computer science class, but we're only just getting started.

Arjun Neralla ‘22: A commitment to Singapore

Congratulations to Arjun on being awarded National Servicemen (NSF) of the Year 2024! Presented to less than 0.25% of the NSF population annually, the award showcases the Singapore Armed Force’s appreciation for outstanding officers who contributed beyond their call of duty and demonstrated a strong commitment to defence.

From Basic Military Training to Officer Cadet School, Arjun rose the ranks to join the Deputy Training and Operations Officer 30th Batallion Singapore Combat Engineers. Having served two years, Arjun is now off to his next chapter pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Food Science at the University of California, Davis. He is one of many UWCSEA graduates who have gone on to enlist in National Service before starting their university studies.

An all-rounded leader, he contributed to the achievement of operational and administrative excellence in the unit. He was a highly dedicated soldier who played an integral role in developing training programmes to enrich the NS experience of his peers. His selflessness and commitment towards the unit and National Service earned him the respect of his fellow soldiers.

The school (especially the teachers) has been instrumental in shaping his values and has played a key role in him getting this award.

Roberto Borsetti ‘23: Data-driven solutions for a connected campus

Northwestern University’s Associated Student Government (ASG) Analytics Committee has secured two more years of funding for the Chicago Express, a complimentary Saturday shuttle that brings students to key spots in Chicago.

Co-chair Roberto shared that the team is collecting student feedback to explore adding more destinations or expanding service beyond Saturdays as ridership grows. This initiative, led by student efforts, is making city access easier for Northwestern students – one ride at a time! Roberto who is in his second year pursuing Economics and Data Science adds,

The shuttle has been a great alternative for students financially, but also is a reliable and safe option for students to explore areas beyond Evanston. The shuttle makes it far more convenient for students to go down to Chicago and also get to know more about the region that they’re a part of. This is a big part of being a Northwestern student, but it’s also being mindful that there is a greater Chicago area around us.
