Eoin Sheehy ‘23: Building community through shared stories

While serving his National Service (NS) with the Singapore Armed Forces, Eoin went above and beyond by launching My NS Story – a platform designed to connect National Servicemen through uplifting, shared experiences.

His goal? To inspire and support fellow Servicemen through the power of storytelling.

NS is more than just an obligation; it is a transformative experience that fosters personal growth, resilience, and a sense of purpose.

Joao Branco Chaves ‘21: Pursuing passion and purpose in theatre

Apart from scoring academic honours, and gaining extensive hands-on internship experience, he recently received exciting news: acceptance into the Theatre Management and Producing MFA programme at Columbia University.

With a strong foundation from UWCSEA and support from the Davis UWC Scholars programme, Joao is thriving as a senior at Gettysburg College with a double major in Business and Theatre Arts.

These past four years have been filled with both challenges and incredible opportunities, all of which have shaped the person I am today. None of this would have been possible without the support of the UWCSEA and Davis UWC Scholars programme, and for that, I am profoundly grateful.
