Theatre is more than just performance—it is a fusion of storytelling, creativity, and collaboration. This year, our Drama Department on East Campus brought four diverse productions to life, each distinct in its themes yet unified in their passion and dedication. From Shakespearean magic infused with Indonesian artistry to a deeply psychological drama, from a dystopian vision of the future to a powerful Bolivian adaptation, each play showcased the transformative power of theatre.
Voices, presented by the Voices of Women in Solidarity (VOWS) Focus Group and Daraja Global Concerns (GC) Group, is a powerful community and High School production that brings stories to life through monologues, spoken word poetry, skits, and songs. This year, the production at East Campus focused on themes of resilience, empowerment, and solidarity, offering a platform for important conversations about gender-based violence and social change.
The UWCSEA East Family Festival, organised by the Parents' Association, brought together over 2,500 family members for a day of community, fun, and festivities! We enjoyed all kinds of activities, from exciting rides and games to discovering new treasures at the PA Bazaar and picking out books at the PACE Book Fair. The multicultural food stalls served up delicious treats, and the Global Concerns Fair gave us a chance to learn about amazing student-led initiatives. To top it all off, the live performances brought so much energy and fun!
