Trip to Playeum sparks kindergarteners' curiosity and creativity

The East K1s made a trip to Playeum Children’s Centre for Creativity on 8 November, which proved to be a wonderful experience for them. There were lots of opportunities for the children to freely explore their chosen interests through discovery and curiosity.

The kindergarten children enjoyed the freedom of exploring the imaginary and multi-sensory environments of ‘dreaming rooms’, ‘making spaces’ and ‘creating places’. The hands-on-exhibition also naturally supported and inspired the UWCSEA profile skills of Creativity and Critical Thinking. The exhibition allowed the children and adults to experience the home as a place where many ordinary materials can have multiple purposes and support imagination, innovation and sustainability.

These play-based and creative reuse activities are very much in line with the Reggio-inspired practice in our Infant School learning programme.
