IDEAS Hub: Young Makers Summit

IDEAS Hub: Young Makers Summit

On Tuesday, 8 May 2017, the IDEAS Hub at UWCSEA Dover was honoured to host the Young Makers Summit, featuring thought leaders and young makers from across Singapore including: the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Nanyang Poly, Singapore Poly, Singapore University of Technology and Design and UWCSEA.

Makers presented their inventions to over 100 members of the public and guests from intel and The Science Centre. Inventions presented included -  a robot who functions as a companion for the elderly and is able to sense a person's mood, a hacked manual wheelchair turned electric, a smart mirror and a haze sensor.  Makers were encouraged to keep up up the good work; even if their first invention doesn't make them into Bill Gates, a great deal of learning is gained just through the process of 'making' and their work has real importance and potential to help make the world a better place.
