In September 2016 the Pearson Exam board hosted an awards ceremony for students in Singapore who achieved the absolute pinnacle of excellence in their Grade 10 exams which were taken in March 2014. Several schools were honored, including 12 Visual Arts students from UWCSEA Dover, some of whom achieved the “Highest Mark in the World”. 
 
The event took place on Thursday, 8 September at the SUNTEC Convention Center and students were honored to be presented with certificates and medals of excellence.
 
Art and Photography teachers Sally Lee, Nicki Hambleton, Gabriel Esswood and John Widder were proud members of the audience and there to support, and to celebrate, the learning of these fine representatives of the College.
 
Pippa Haley, High School Vice Principal UWCSEA Dover shared, “This event celebrated the incredible artistic talent of our students. Their achievement is testament to their passion, dedication and commitment. The warmth of relationships between the students and their teachers who have supported them in nurturing their talents was evident throughout, we are very proud of their success.”
 
Many of the winning students are now completing their Grade 12 IB Art studies and plan to attend Art or Architecture school to make their mark in the world via the visual arts.
