French Day brings Dover and East Grade 6 students together for learning and fun
By Patricia Waszczuk, French Teacher, Dover Campus
On Monday, 11 June, UWCSEA Dover and East Grade 6 French language students came together on East Campus for a morning of shared language learning and fun. The aim of the combined Dover East French Day was to build community between the two campuses and to give our Grade 6 French students the opportunity to collaborate and communicate together in French through a series of interactive and fun activities.
There were 70 students involved and they were put into 10 teams of 7, with teams made up of students from both campuses. Throughout the morning, students participated in a series of games where points were awarded. It was run as a carousel, with two teams on each station at a time and then rotating to the next. There were five stations in total - Treasure Hunt, Quiz, Obstacle Course, La Petanque, Pictionary/Guess Who.
Students used their knowledge of French to work together to complete each activity as a team.
