Evelin Toth ’13 receives Watson Fellowship

UWCSEA alumna Evelin Toth '13, recipient of  2017 Thomas J. Watson FellowshipUWCSEA alumna Evelin Toth ’13, who will graduate with a degree in Environmental Policy from Middlebury College this year, has been awarded a 2017 Thomas J. Watson Fellowship.

The highly selective Watson Fellowship, founded in 1968 in the name of Thomas J Watson, best known for building IBM, funds a year of independent exploration outside the United States.

Evelin’s project, “Adapting to the Rising Seas: Climate Change and Island Communities,” will focus on gaining insight into how island communities around the world are adapting to climate change. Her fellowship will take her to Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Taiwan, Samoa and Ecuador’s Galapagos Islands.
