Dragons swimmers compete at national meets in Singapore and Australia

In December East Dragons swimmers competed in the 5th Singapore Swimming National Championships (Short Course), going up against Singapore national level swimmers, many of whom will be swimming at Rio 2016.

Due to last minute meet changes many of our strong swimmers were unable to compete at the competition however those who were able to make it did not disappoint. Many Dragons made the finals, a great achievement given that this was an open age group event. Special mention must go to Liam Coates and Daniel Parker who won Bronze medals in the 100 backstroke and 1500 freestyle respectively.

Well done to Georgina Winters who swam at the Queensland Age Groups which also took place in December. Georgie did extremely well making three finals and earning numerous qualification times for this year's Australian National Age Groups.

These meets were just another step on the road to college scholarships and Olympic trials which take place in March and April. Good luck to the team for the rest of the season.
