Dragons retain ACSIS High School Swimming titles for fourth consecutive year
By Lachlan Elliott, Class of 2017, East Campus
On Saturday, 11 November, an Under 19 team of 40 swimmers (20 girls and 20 boys) rolled into the East Campus to attempt to retain both the male and female High School Athletic Conference of Singapore International Schools (ACSIS) Swimming titles. From the start it was not going to be easy as the meet was not ours on paper, however it soon became clear that the Dragons were not going down without a fight.
Many swimmers stood up to their rivals after a tough section of training and put everything they had left into the pool. Some races stood out far more than others such as the girls 200m Individual medley where East swimmers claimed the first four positions. With the weather closing in the races drew tighter as well as faster as we moved into the final relays where it was clear most swimmers were tired however we ended on a high with some exciting relays.
Overall the team did us very proud as they managed to retain both male and female titles for the fourth year in a row despite missing some of our stronger swimmers. Congratulations to everyone who took part and it looks like it will be an exciting season ahead.
