Demiurge poetry: Big Girls Don’t Cry

Demiurge poetry: Big Girls Don’t Cry

"Big girls don't cry"
once they get to an age
because they are convinced
they're past that stage

"Tough girls don't cry"
they don't shed a tear
for they must always exhibit
zero fear

"Strong girls don't cry"
they have to be brave
if they cry even once
they take it to the grave

"Fierce girls don't cry"
they must gain power
for who will they be
if they cry and cower?

"I don't cry"
because I'm afraid to get hurt
scared I
will
be seen
as
weak
or delicate

Because I have to be strong
and I have to be tough
For who will I be if I am not?

There is armour I build around myself, a defensive fortress that no one can cross.

Am I
nothing
if I cry?

I'm human, if you stab me I will bleed
but
if
I
don't
allow
myself
to
bleed
for
fear
of
getting
hurt
then
am
I
truly
human?
