TeachUp Mini Conference

What is TeachUp?

TeachUp is a mini-conference for anyone involved in teaching looking for peer-delivered professional development. Share and learn tried-and-tested new ideas with others. TeachUp meetings will take place three times a year and are for anyone involved in teaching: teachers, Heads of Departments, Principals, librarians, administrators and support staff.

The best teachers are always trying out new ideas and thinking about how to improve their students' learning. TeachUp is a half day meeting (mini-conference style) with four sharing sessions where you share your own and hear others' ideas about what works both in and out of the classroom. What better way to learn and share than with other practising teachers? Learn new ideas from others: upskill while building up your professional network.

How does it work?

Every teacher has their toolkit of tried-and-tested lessons which went down really well with their students so everyone who attends can offer a sharing session on something that worked for them. Each session is 25 minutes long and some teachers may request a double session to share their idea. Participants will be invited to 'recommend' a sharing session they thought was excellent. Recommended teachers will be invited to do a short pecha kucha style talk at a future TeachUp Mini Conference.
