Workshop on Best Practice in the French First Language Grade 11 and 12 Classroom

Workshop Overview

During the course of the workshop, the following key understandings will be addressed:
This workshop will look at assessment, teaching and learning methodologies, and best practice in the classroom. It is for educators who have already been teaching their particular IB programme.
Participants will be expected to have a good understanding of their programme, as well as practical experience in assessment, so they can share good practices.

As a result of attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • make connections between programme frameworks and classroom practice 

  • enhance their understanding of assessment in IB programmes 

  • discuss and analyse standards and practices appropriate to their role 

  • engage in discussion and activities aimed at sharing pedagogical techniques.

About the Trainer

Hélène Dupuis has been teaching French literature since 1992 and currently teaches at Collège Laflèche, in Québec. She also taught French as a second language at UQTR (Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières). She has a number of years of IB Principal examining experience. In addition to be a French A&B workshop leader, Hélène is an IB consultant and site visitor. She obtained a Master degree in literature and certificates in translation and in teaching French as a second language.
