Before you begin, please read through the important information below:
All applicants who meet our entry criteria are considered for one of the available places. If demand for places exceeds the number of students we can enrol, we determine how we allocate the available places to based on our commitment to diversity.
There are some important policies, practices and considerations that you will need to take into account, some of which may affect your child's eligibility to attend the College. Please read through the following information in detail before and acknowledge for each section that you have understood the information for proceeding.
1. Grade placement
This refers to the grade to for your child would be applying.
Why is this important?
We have age guidelines for each year to ensure that students are placed with others at a similar development stage to benefit the learning of all students in the cohort.
You may seek a grade placement that is above or below our age-grade boundaries with supporting reasons. Please read our guidelines on this. All requests are subject to a detailed review process and the relevant Principal’s final decision.
If you are applying as a day student, please confirm that you have read and meet our Residency requirement, as described below and in our Standard Terms and Conditions?
Why is this important?
It is a requirement of our College Terms and Conditions that all students must reside with at least one parent who is also resident in Singapore and is present in Singapore for at least 90% of each term.
This policy is strictly applied and a student who is found to not be living with a parent, or where both parents are more than occasionally absent from Singapore, will be asked to leave the College.
Need more information? Please read the following policies:
If you intend on applying for a child who is a Singapore Citizen (including dual nationals), your child must meet UWCSEA's Singapore Citizen Policy criteria.
Why is this important?
We cannot accept an application from any applicant who has a pending Singapore Citizenship application. In addition, applicants to UWCSEA who apply for Singapore Citizenship at any time during their application or enrollment process must disclose this information, and will be asked to withdraw their application and/or have their offer of a place withdrawn by UWCSEA. Refer to Clause 10.5 of our Standard Terms and Conditions.
Singapore Citizen applicants
Our information for Singapore Citizen applicants requiring a waiver from Singapore MOE can be found here. Please make sure to read in detail should your child be a citizen, or is likely to become a Singapore Citizen at any stage during the application process.
4. English as an Additional Language (EAL)
At UWCSEA teaching instruction is in English, and as such, we have EAL application requirements for students applying to enter the College.
Why is this important?
We do not offer any beginner-level English support. Our EAL programme is focused on developing academic reading and writing skills, so students must have appropriate levels of communicative English language skills as described in our guidelines.
Need more information? Please read the following policies:
If you would like to discuss any of the above information or requirements before making your application, please contact Admissions on admissions@uwcsea.edu.sg
Thank you for taking the time to read through and acknowledge these important points. If you have any questions about these points prior to making your application, please email us at Admissions@uwcsea.edu.sg

Pre-screening for some applicants
Some applicants are asked to submit a request for pre-screening through the application system prior to finalising their application so our Admissions team can advise if you are likely to be able to meet our immigration and/or entry criteria.
This includes those:
whose child is, or may become, a Singapore Citizen at any point in the application or enrolment process, or after enrolling at the College and who therefore may require a MOE waiver - please see information at this link
who intend to have your child nominated for a place via your employer's UNP Corporate Nominee Programme should arrange to have the corporate subscriber nominate the applicant for pre-screening before opening an application
applicants who have requests that require individual additional consideration, for example 'out of grade' placements
