50th Anniversary Scholarship

Proceeds of the evening

Globally, the UWC schools and colleges have a significant number of ‘national committee’-selected scholarship students. Scholarships not only provide opportunities for talented individuals but ensure the campuses are enriched by the diversity of experience the scholars bring to their communities. If our ball further enriches the UWCSEA student body then this would be a truly special achievement.

UWCSEA Around the World
Photo competition winners

Two photos were selected as joint first place, with several runners-up. These photos were featured on the commemorative tickets that were issued for the UWCSEA Ball – celebrating 50 years of the UWC movement. The tickets had dual purpose, as they were printed on high quality paper as souvenir bookmarks.

Over the summer months, students took photos of themselves all over the world, wearing or holding their UWCSEA uniform shirt. More than 380 photos were submitted, spanning the globe from top to bottom (literally - we have one from the polar circle, and one from the Antarctica Centre in New Zealand!) and covering all but one continent.

Click here to see the 12 minute version with almost all of the photos.

Thank you to our community for embracing this initiative and your support of the UWC movement.
