As a great believer in the power of education and the values of UWCSEA, I am very proud to Chair the UWCSEA Foundation, the formal fund-raising arm of the College. In just two years we have achieved so much that will benefit the College and all those that attend for years to come. The Foundation has successfully generated funds for its four key programmes, which includes the scholarship programme, curriculum innovation, staff professional development and capital development. This has enabled UWCSEA to increase student diversity, to implement innovative learning programmes and to enrich development opportunities for our faculty. The Foundation is directly supporting the College in its vision to be one of the best international schools in the world.
Without the generosity and support of our parents, alumni, staff, corporate and foundation partners, none of what is contained within this report would have been possible. You have all played a role in our success and for that we are very grateful. I look forward to chairing the Foundation through its second Annual Fund campaign and to reporting on even greater achievements in the future.

Having served as a Founding Director of the UWCSEA Foundation and currently serving as Chair of the Board of Governors, I have witnessed first-hand the development of an incredibly cohesive and beneficial partnership. Together we have navigated the journey to our East campus, have grown our scholar numbers and have established a number of initiatives that will ensure UWCSEA extends its reputation as a leader in international education.
The Foundation is intrinsic to the success of UWCSEA and this report shows just how important your support of the Foundation really is. Through your donations you have impacted lives and helped us to better achieve our aspirational vision: to be a leader in international education. We will have a worldwide reputation for providing a challenging holistic values-based education with an emphasis upon academic achievement, service to others, environmental stewardship, teamwork and leadership.

By 2015 over 5000 children will have the opportunity to experience our life defining educational experience, and the role of the Foundation is now more important than ever. By connecting philanthropy and education, the Foundation will enable us to empower, enable and invest in a future generation of global citizens – individuals that will have the understanding to know when to act, the confidence to take on challenges and the attitude to succeed for the greater good.
In my role as Head of College, I am privileged to receive letters from students that talk of the transformational experience UWCSEA has had on their lives:
“Everything seems to be more possible, helping people for real is possible and it doesn't matter if we are 16 or if we are not rich. It is possible, and everything starts from little essential steps, that I've learned in the UWCSEA College. I say thank you for the global concerns program, thank you for the possibility that we have of starting activities, making things happen and believing even more that we actually can do something for the world.” Ludmila, Scholar from Brazil
I would like to join Ludmilla and say thank you UWCSEA community. You made it all possible!
