House matters

The boarding experience further builds responsibility by encouraging self-discipline and respect for house regulations. Every boarder is fully aware of his or her role in contributing towards maintaining a harmonious and peaceful environment, including showing concern for fellow boarders and their customs. There is a rotation of general duties allowing every boarder to participate in housekeeping. A laundry service is provided three times a week.

Although houseparents do their best to provide an environment similar to a family home, boarders are naturally expected to follow some general regulations and guidelines. These are designed to allow a large group of people live together in a supportive community which has high expectations of all its members. UWCSEA's boarding regulations concern areas such as mutual consideration, the use of common facilities, duty rosters, homework times, permission to go off campus and overnight passes.
