Academic Support

We aim to offer a varied range of challenging experiences that give all students an opportunity for learning the lessons that will mean the most to them as individuals. UWCSEA students come from a wide range of cultural and academic backgrounds and the College have various programmes to help make sure that each student is reaching their own personal potential.

In addition to our well-stocked library, the school offers additional academic support to those students who would benefit from this assistance.

Library
Our well stocked library is used extensively for class lessons as well as recreational reading. Infant classes visit the library once a week to borrow books. The Teacher Librarian works with all classes during the year to teach library skills, as well as support certain aspects of classroom learning.

Learning Support
The Learning Support teachers work with groups of students to enhance their learning. There are many reasons that may necessitate a student being included in the Learning Support programme and parents are always contacted by the class teacher or the Learning Support teacher before any support begins.

On occasions the Learning Support teacher may suggest that an outside professional is involved in the assessment of a child. We also ask that parents keep the class teacher informed of any extra support or lessons that Infant students may be receiving outside school.
